VLADIMIR MARCANO was born in Caracas in 1971. He has participated in the following: studies of photography in Arte 3, Centro de fotografía conac; studies of photography conducted by the photographers Ramón Grandal and Paolo Gasparini; the Street Photography Workshop with Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb, Cadiz, Spain; the Seminar of Photography and Visual Now taught by Horacio Fernández; and the Seminar on the Future of Documentary Photography, agency VII, New York, USA. He has worked as a commercial photographer since 1999 and has created portraits, reports, and editorials for various magazines in Venezuela. In 2009 he began to create stories for The Guardian (UK) and Bloomberg News. He received the Third Mention for the Documentary Category in the I Daniella Chappard Photography Biennial (2000) and an Honorable Mention in the VII Salón Pirelli Young Artists (2007). He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Venezuela and other countries.
